It is been penned and it is official: churches and non-profit organizations can gamble in Ohio. Governor Ted Strickland signed a casino bill which makes it legal to conduct games like roulette, craps, and slot machines at such festivals.

It was a last minute addition to the Ohio-voter- approved casino bill back in November, but that approval also made it illegal for any other forms of gambling besides those listed in the bill.

In related news, Cincinnatians are anticipating construction of the brand new casino to be built at  Broadway Commons.  Expectations are that the project will create some 4,900 jobs in the city alone, while 6 million people visit the casino each year. Completion of the project is slated for 2012. The developer of the casino has released the latest vision of what the casino will look like.

As an active resident of Ohio, what is your take on the gambling bill and the new casino that will sit at Broadway Commons? Weigh in on the conversation as a member of WIZ Nation!
