Lil Boosie

Lil’ Boosie is finally a free man. The Baton Rouge-native was released from a Louisiana State Penitentiary on Wednesday night, according to WAFB Channel 9. Warden Burl Cain confirmed the rapper, real name Torrence Hatch, was released at 7:10 p.m. EST and later transferred to a sheriff’s department facility in St. Francisville where family members waited for his arrival.

Boosie had been incarcerated since 2009 for a third-offense marijuana possession charge, as well as a probation violation. WAFB reveals the rapper is scheduled to attend a news conference in New Orleans on Monday, organized by Atlantic Records.
