While I had mixed feelings about his debut album, Sleepy Brown’s single ”I Can’t Wait” still gets regular rotation in my music playlists. Thankfully he seems to have recaptured that cognac sipping groove that made ”Wait..” such a hit on his new song “Awhile.”
Awhile is a seductive, smokey track complete with a soliloquy from the late Barry White’s son, Darryl. So if you’re looking to unwrap yourself for a late Christmas gift of prep for a special New Year’s Eve countdown, this song should be in the mix.
