Cincinnati is paying tribute to one of its own. Comedian Katt Williams will be honored with a street renaming ceremony in the heart of Avondale on April 19th, just ahead of his “Heaven on Earth” tour stop at Heritage Bank Center.

The intersection of Reading Road and Maple Avenue will officially become Katt Williams Way, recognizing the Emmy-winning comedian’s roots and career accomplishments. The ceremony will take place from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the newly named corner.

Leading the effort is Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, who has long advocated for celebrating local talent and cultural icons. In 2023, she presented Williams with a city declaration officially naming April 27 as “Katt Williams Day.”

The Cincinnati City Council voted and approved the street renaming earlier this year. Known for his sharp wit, heavy punchlines, (and that silk press), Williams has built a career that spans stand-up, film, and television, all while maintaining strong ties to his Ohio roots.

The street naming ceremony will take place a few hours before Williams’ tour stop later that evening, making the day a full-circle celebration.
