Its was somewhat dreary Sunday morning. But everyone showed up at Sawyer Point prepared to walk for the cause. Many brought their dogs, babies in strollers, and walking teams with umbrellas on reserve. I too was on a quest and ready to strut! But prior to walking I captured all of the fun on camera (pics below). While we strolled from Sawyer Point, across the Kings Iron Bridge into Newport and back across the Purple People Bridge into Ohio, I  shared our experience live on the air.

AIDS is the leading cause of death of African American women 24-34

Them dudes, Don Juan Fasho and DJ Diamond were there to get us pumped up. The ladies of St. Ursaline Academy (who raised $3000) helped to get our blood flowing during their warm up exercise routine. Thank you to Stop AIDS for all that you do! Thank you to Jeri Tolliver of 1230am the Buzz, the Indian Hills Tennis Team, the students from the School of Performing Arts and everybody who donated their dollars and their time, in the fight to Stop Aids. All proceeds from the walk went to assist with education, testing and prevention.

Stop Aids educates 25,000 with HIV prevention information annually

If AIDS affects one of us, it affects all of us. It only takes one step, in order to make a difference. It only takes one conversation in order to stop the spread of HIV and AIDS.

One out of every four people infected do not know they have HIV

By the way when is the last time you were tested for HIV? There is still no cure. If you are having sex, you need to get tested. All of the information you need can be found  at STOPAIDSCincinnati.org.
