Lil Wayne Celebrates Reginae’s Birthday

They say hustle doesn’t stop. Drake appears to be the epitome of that philiosophy at the moment. Drake is sure to have the #1 album on the charts this week, with the release of Take Care, but he’s nowhere near ready to stop and smell the flowers. He recently revealed that he’s already started work on the follow up.  He says he’s begun recording intros to that project, which will capture where he’s at in his life, much like Take Care has done so far. He also says that he now considers himself an album artist and that he doesn’t think he’ll be putting out another mixtape again. He justifies the decision by explaining that an album allows him to put more behind the project than he would with a mixtape. He says he’s beyond the point of putting out free music, when he doesn’t even really make money off of putting out a studio album, which is why first week sales don’t mean much to him. He says the money is in touring and brand sponsorship, which is most likely why he’s interested in working with knit wear Missoni to launch a sweater line. Meanwhile, while Drake might not care about first week album sales – it looks like Take Care will be #1 on the charts.

In other YMCMB news, Lil Wayne recently released a video introducing his newest signee named Torion Sellers. The 14-year-old boy sings like Michael Jackson and dances like Chris Brown. In the clip the boy sings a rendition of the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There,” before launching into a dance routine to Brown’s “Look At Me Now.” Wayne can be seen in the video helping young Torion out by lip syncing the lyrics to his verse on the track.
