NEW YORK-Viacom cable networks BET and MTV have banned rapper, The Game’s “Red Nation” video featuring Lil Wayne due to the graphic depiction of gang colors, and connection to the “Bloods” street gang according to WENN.
Both The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor and Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter have a long history of wearing blood colors, using blood slang and bragging about their gang affiliations. Both BET and MTV have previously given a lot of airplay to these artists despite their well known gang affiliations. BET’s 106th and Park program, which has a demographic of 12-16, has promoted videos by the artists and had both artists on as guests.
