Jay-Z will appear in a two-minute teaser airing at 6:28 ET (just minutes before kickoff) alongside none other than the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Kynan Johns. The Maestro says that being in a music video is “outside the mainstream of classical music.” The director of orchestras at Mason Gross School of the Arts admits “it doesn’t happen in our realm” but it seems it will Super Bowl Sunday. The music video, being shot this week in New York City, is a “fusion of rap and rock injected with a substantive orchestral presence” and will help the students see that “it takes a lot of time to get pop music to that level.” With an average viewing numbers of around 99 million people, the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra is getting prime face time. “We’re extraordinarily proud to have our students rubbing elbows — and touching knuckles — with Jay-Z,” George Stauffer says seeming impressed. Stauffer is the Mason Gross Dean and happens to be known as an expert in the early life and work of J.S. Bach. Via:drewreports.com
