Mexican authorities have made one of the largest marijuana drug busts in years, in the city of Tijuana.

Security forces battled with drug runners early Monday morning, after attempting to stop several vehicles suspected of carrying drugs.

Following a shootout, two people were injured and 11 people arrested according to Sky News.

Some of those that were arrested, told police where they could find more marijuana bound for the U.S.

Police seized 10,000 packages of weed, weighing 105 tons. Also seized were firearms, trailers and trucks.

Army General Alfonso Duarte described the bust.

“Three operations took place simultaneously co-ordinating municipal, state, federal and army authorities,” he said.”Approximately 105 tons (was found). We think this equals the amount we seized in the last 10 months.”

Duarte said the blocks of dope had been wrapped in different colors and labels. Some were even stamped with pictures that included TV character Homer Simpson.
