So much for a white Christmas…

Cincinnati experienced some record-breaking snowfall throughout Sunday, with 8.4 inches covering the area— surpassing the previous record of 6.9 inches set in 1977. As the winter storm continues throughout Monday, the region is preparing for more severe weather.

Meteorologists predict an additional 2-4 inches of snow to fall across Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana on Monday. The winter storm warning remains active until midnight, and officials have advised against unnecessary travel due to hazardous road conditions.

Those who must travel are encouraged to keep emergency supplies, such as a flashlight, food, and water, in their vehicles.

The storm began as a wintry mix and will turn entirely to snow by late morning. Authorities expect total accumulation to reach 7-10 inches before the snowfall ends Monday night.
