The rush hour before work and after it might become a little less bumpy pretty soon as the Ohio Department of Transportation says there are more road improvement projects going on simultaneously this summer. Why? Beyond the obvious need for repaving roads and filling up potholes, nearly $400 million has been set aside for the completion of new project developments and road enhancements in southwest Ohio.

The orange barrels, light bright cones and detours have caused traffic to build across town, especially in and out of the city’s center. For those of us struggling to get to work on time because of it just hold tight and plan to leave a little earlier (or work from home if you can, right?) to set out on your daily commute. The Cincinnati Department of Transportation is asking downtown drivers to be patient as word of a new $9 million street improvement project funded by taxpayers is reportedly on the horizon.

Starting with strips of roads and pavement near 7th Street, some of the improvements also include bridges and even bike paths, so expect the orange barrels to show up just about anywhere. By all means though, please be safe wherever you travel.
