While there were a few hip-hop releases this week on the Billboard 200, it was ruled by soundtracks — the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack and the latest installment of the “Glee” soundtrack series — “Journey to Regionals.”

It was the “Glee” project that took no. 1 though.

The highest rap debut this week comes from Plies, who opens at no. 5 with Goon Affiliated, selling 56,000. His last release, 2008’s Da Realist, opened at no. 14 with 114,000 sold.

Later on, Usher’s Raymond v. Raymond comes at no. 12 with 30,000, while the Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D. lands at no. 15 with 21,000 copies sold.

As for new releases, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy debuts at no. 27 with his solo debut, Lazarus, selling 15,000 copies; Lil Jon’s long awaited Crunk Rock finally dropped, but ended up at no. 48 with just 8,900 copies sold.

And, Strange Music’s Kutt Calhoun dropped Raw and Un-Kut, which lands at no. 145 with 3,500 copies.

That wraps things up this week. To cop any of these new releases, head over to Amazon.com.

According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending June 13) totaled 5.49 million units, up 6% compared to the sum last week (5.16 million) and down 14% compared to the comparable sales week of 2009 (6.35 million).
