According to WBNS a 13 year old, identified as Tyree King, was killed in a Columbus Police involved shooting Wednesday night. Around 7:42pm Columbus Police Officers responded to a call reporting armed robbery at S. 18th and Capital Streets. Upon arrival police the victim gave police a description of the individuals saying they approached him with guns asking for money.
The suspect was spotted along Huffman street with two other males suspects. Police say King pulled what appeared to be a gun from his waistband, when police opened fire. King was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he later died. It was also determined during investigation that King was in fact carrying a BB gun with a laser sight attached to it.
The officer involved with the shootings name has yet to be released.
