If you’ve been anywhere near sports over the course of the last year, then you already know that Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Since helping his team clench their first NBA Championship in 40 years this past summer, Curry has rose to NBA superstardom at an alarming pace and according to him, he’s not planning on slowing down any time soon. With the Warriors currently riding high atop the Western Conference (and the league overall) at 23-0, Steph is yet again leading the way as his team embarks on one of the most exhilarating journeys we’ve seen in sports in the last decade.

The Bay Area’s golden boy recently sat down to chat with ESPN The Magazine for a quick Q&A session and when the topic of him one day claiming Michael Jordan’s spot as the NBA’s GOAT, Steph didn’t shy away from admitting that he’s got his eye on the title.

Is going down as the GOAT in your mind’s eye, or do you just go in conceding that title due to the presence of one Michael Jordan?

It’s a high mountain to climb, but I’m pretty motivated to take on the challenge. Whatever that means, however you got on that mountain, why not try to climb it? And do it in your own way.

So you are trying to top MJ as the greatest of all time?

Yeah. Why else would I be playing? You want to be the best you can be. And if the best you can be is better than him, then why not? That’s good motivation.

While some may argue that Steph has a ways to go before he can begin tossing around GOAT talk, at the rate he’s going currently, can you really expect anything less from him other than to want to be the greatest?
