Tamar Braxton was reportedly rushed to the hospital just before she was supposed to perform on Dancing With The Stars tonight.
According to host Tom Bergeron, the singer was reportedly taken to the emergency room in the middle of dress rehearsal earlier today, due to suffering from pneumonia.
While fans were hoping that she would make it back in time for the live show, she was unfortunately unable to dance tonight.
This left the judges to determine if she could be disqualified from the competition, but they fortunately allowed her to use her dress rehearsal dance footage.
After the footage aired for the judges, her partner, Val Chermokovskiy, became emotional during his interview, stating, “You just saw a person that shouldn’t have been here, and was here because she felt bad for her partner, teacher, you know, that’s why I feel really bad, because it shouldn’t be like that,” he said. “It should be a fun journey. I’m not here to make her life hard. We want to celebrate her effort.”
Tamar and Val were given a 22/30 score for the competition, but despite the news from earlier, Tamar was actually able to come out and perform for her dance.
The singer surprised fans and viewers by making it back from the hospital in time to dance with Val, and it was certainly beautiful.
We’re happy Tamar is doing better, and we hope to see her flourish through the rest of the season.
