Eric Garner’s family accepted a pretrial settlement pf 5.9 million from the city Monday. Garner’s estate filed a claim against the city for 75 million in October 2014 for damages related to his death. This settlement is an acknowledgment that Garners death was tragic however it is not an admission, no one was indicted.
You have to be living under a rock not to know who Eric Garner is but just in-case you don’t know this man, let me explain. Garner was a husband and a dad who was killed by the arms of New York Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo. The office suspected that Garner was selling lose cigarettes and chocked him to death.
