Kanye West has avoided any jail time stemming from his 2013 fight with photographer, Daniel Ramos, at LAX. West was in court yesterday to meet with Ramos and his legal team. This comes a week earlier, as the trial was set to begin next week.
While the financial payout has not been made public, a huge part of the settlement was an apology from Kanye West and a photo-op with the rapper.
Ramos lawyer, Gloria Allred, shared “We cannot discuss the details of the settlement, except to say that one important aspect of it was an apology by Kanye West to our client. We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question.”
