Throughout the many years that Nas has been in the spotlight, accusations of having a ghostwriter have sprouted numerous times.  Names like Jay Electronica and stic.man have been pinned as hidden lyrical sources for the Queens rappers, but Nas has maintained his authenticity the entire time.

However, he did recently own up to the fact that his brother inspired him, and as a result, helped him write his classic hit “One Mic.”  During Nas’ show at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, Nas addressed the crowd as he explained that his younger brother, Jungle, was the only man that he’s ever taken lines from in order to create one of his most memorable songs.

Nas told the crowd:

“Year after year.  Another album after another album.  Record company bullsh*t.  Life.  So, I couldn’t write.  I listened to what he said, and he gave me the first four lines and then I took it from there.  My brother said this – he’s not a rapper, “All I need is one mic…”
