Production on the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton is in full swing. Director F. Gary Gray has the cast shooting scenes in Compton, California, where they got an up close and personal view of what it’s really like to live in the neighborhood.
A scene was being shot in front of the Compton Courthouse last week when several men from the neighborhood were walking by and flashed gang signs at a passing car. Gunfire erupted and one person was injured and fell near the movie set. The victim survived, but the shooting made some of the cast and crew members nervous even though they weren’t the target of the shooters
TMZ reports that the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting. In the meantime Gray plans to continue filming in Compton.
