She’s just 24 years old, and continues to hit milestones in music. Rihanna scored her 12th #1 ranking on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week with latest single, “Diamonds.”

The Stargate and Benny Blanco-produced single jumped from the #2 spot to #1 this week, based on airplay and digital sales, pushing out Maroon 5’s “One More Night.” By hitting the top spot, the pop superstar has 12 #1 singles — including “Umbrella,” “Disturbia,” and her 2011 hit, “We Found Love.”

Rihanna surpasses Whitney Houston (11) and Janet Jackson (10), and ties Madonna for most #1’s on the Hot 100 by a female, only trailing Mariah Carey (18).

While her single takes over, her new album, Unapologetic is set to debut at #1 on next week’s Billboard 200, with estimates of 240-260k copies sold.
