Paul Gaston seemed to be “under the influence of something” as he drove Wednesday down Harrison Avenue on the westside of Cincinnati “hitting other things,” a woman told a 911 dispatcher.

After he suddenly crashed his pickup into a utility pole, a second 911 caller said he stumbled out of the vehicle, “dropped a gun, and then picked up the gun and took off.”

Less than half an hour later, Cincinnati police officers shot and killed Gaston, 37, after officials said he reached for a gun in the waistband of his pants. Read More

MOUNT HEALTHY — A 26-year-old man  pointed a toy handgun at them late Tuesday night when officers responded to a disturbance at a home.

Mount Healthy police charged Christopher R. Laugle with menacing and obstructing official business after he grabbed a handgun out of a woman’s hand and pointed at two officers who were called to the home in the 1500 block of Adams Street between 11 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., Police Chief Vince Demasi said Friday.
