LIL WAYNE’S CARTER SETS NEW RECORDS

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV pretty much put Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne, to shame when it was released just weeks later. The effort set new iTunes record by selling more than 300-thousand copies its first four days out – and over a million its first week. The combined physical and digital sales are the biggest first week numbers for a hip-hop album since his album, Tha Carter III, which sold 1.01 million in its first week in June 2008. Tha Carter IV has since been certified double platinum by the RIAA. Listen here as Weezy talks about his album.

RICK ROSS HEALTH SCARE

Rick Ross had a health scare this past October after suffering back to back seizures while mid-flight. On October 14th, Ross was on a jet headed to Memphis when he had a seizure. The plane ended up having an emergency landing and Ross was rushed to the hospital. But after recovering from that, he hopped on another plane and had yet another seizure. Despite the rumors that it was drug or weight related – he says it was all a case of sleep deprivation. He says when doctors asked him when the last time he had 8 hours of sleep was, he replied that it’s been at least five years. Listen here as he talks more about the seizures when he stopped by BET’s 106 and Park.

KIM K’S QUICKIE MARRIAGE

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding/marriage has been the talk of the town since the two became engaged this past May. The couple rented out a 29-million dollar Montecito California mansion as the venue for the wedding that was attended by 450 or so guests including Ciara, LaLa and Carmelo Anthony, Serena Williams, Melanie B, and many more. The lavish wedding cost a reported 10 million dollars and was chronicled on a two part four hour E! special. The demise of their relationship was captured on the newest season of “Kim and Kourtney Take New York” where the couple bickers over where to live, where to raise their children, and living with her sister Kourtney, boyfriend Scott Disick, and son Mason. In the end, their marriage lasted only 72 days with Kim filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and Humphries seeking an annulment.
