I wanted to share one of my favorite parts of the B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards–The Cypher! Many people tune-in literally just for this portion of the show. Last year 15 year old Reema Major stole the spotlight with her strong presence and husky voice, reminiscent of Lauryn Hill. She was on the floor with all guys, spitting along side Nick Javas and Laws, but clearly she was the one to watch! Peep her verse below:
Again Reema Major was 15! It is super dope that she can be lyrical and so young. She didn’t make any reference to her her body, nor was she sexual. I respect it a whole lot. I see a long successful career in her future. The 2011 B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards airs Tuesday October 11th at 8pm EST. This year’s Cypher line-up includes: Rick Ross, Tyga, Tech N9ne, Stalley, Soprano, Skillz, Royce Da 5’9, Pill, Nitty Scott and more!
