The White House has confirmed our first lady will deliver the commencement speech to the 2011 graduating class of Spelman College. As the women receive their diploma’s come May 15 they will be in the presence of none other than Michelle Obama. According to AJC.com this institution was selected due to their commitment to serve in addition to healing the world which are also passions of the President’s wife. The class makes up about 500women whom will also be in the company of celebrity sisters Debbie Allen (director, choreographer and author), Phylicia Rashad (actress and director), and Mrs. Obama (advocate for change who fosters healthy eating among families across the country) as they receive honorary degrees. Lastly Teach for America CEO and founder, Wendy Kopp is due to receive the National Community Service award.
