Chris Henry’s Fiancee Says Late Bengals WR Jumped Off The Truck
The fiancee of the late Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver Chris Henry said today that the football player jumped out of the back of her truck when he suffered fatal injuries last month. In her first interview since the incident, Loleini Tonga told ESPN’s Outside the Lines that she doesn’t think that she was driving too fast.
“I think he thought maybe he was going to land,” Tonga said. “He was going to land right. I wasn’t going fast. Maybe he was scared because he saw someone calling the police. ..
“He jumped. He jumped. He jumped from the back of the car.”
Henry died at age 26 on Dec. 17 when he was removed from life support.
Per the report, the official cause of death was blunt-force trauma.
According to police reports, the incident followed a domestic dispute between Henry and Tonga.
Tonga said she wasn’t driving too fast.
“I know I wasn’t going fast as all because I was trying to drive slow because I knew he was in the back standing up,” she said.
