As a football player, Chris Henry may be remembered more for his personal issues than his accomplishments on the field. But as a human being, his legacy is far greater. The tragic, final chapter in the story now has an epilogue that ties it all together, exemplifying very well the meaning of life after death.

Upon his passing, Henry’s mother, Carolyn Glaspy opted to donate his organs to help anyone who could possibly have use for them. Last week, on Thanksgiving Day, it was revealed that four lucky patients suffering from various ailments miraculously received Chris Henry’s organs and are now well on their way to living full and healthy lives again.

“Glaspy donated both of Henry’s kidneys, his lungs, his liver, pancreas, his heart and his corneas. Earlier this month, Glaspy met four of the people whose lives were saved thanks to the organ donation, James Benton (liver), Brian Polk (kidney), Tom Elliott (lungs) and Donna Arnold (kidney, pancreas).” [Black Voices]

It was heartbreaking to see all of Chris Henry’s unrealized potential follow him to the grave. But at the same time, the fact that even in death he was able to impact four more lives – in the absolute most significant way – is unbelievable.

See this remarkable story below.
