Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was honored with the “Image Award” this past Saturday at the 14th Annual You Can Go To College Committee Luncheon and he also donated for the 2nd year $25,000.00 to them. As a surprise, Fif was issued a Proclamation from NYS Senator Eric Adams.
The event was held at Antuns in Jamaica, NY. Sean Bell’s mom was honored as well this year with the “Peace in the Community Award”.
About the “You Can Go To College Committee”
A non-profit Organization was established in 1996, to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college for first generation students. Students from 9th thru 12th grades are enrolled in the program. Our current programs include college tours in-state and an annual Black Historical College Bus Tour, PSAT and SAT Preparation courses, parents financial aid workshops, paid and non paid internships, scholarships, and financial assistance finding program. In the last 14 years ” The You Can Go To College Committee” have been responsible for over 3000 students enrolled in colleges and universities and more than 1000 graduates all across the country.
