Rihanna was on BBC’s Radio 1 this morning (October 1) to promote her new upcoming album “LOUD.”

Minutes into the interview, Rihanna exclaims that she is more excited about “LOUD” than any other creative project she’s ever done.

Around the 1:15 mark, Rihanna begins to talk about her fellow artists, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, and their “generic pop,” saying she wouldn’t want to record anything like that.

Though her choice of words was poor, we don’t believe she was intentionally trying to throw shade. After all, her and Katy are good friends – good enough that she threw Katy her bachelorette party only a few weeks ago.

Next time Rihanna, think before you speak.
