We just told you a few days ago that you might need to start saving your coins for one of the biggest R&B music tours to hit the road this fall. As you know, season 3 “American Idol” winner and Charlotte, NC resident Fantasia Barrino is embarking on a 30-city national tour to promote her new album “Back to Me.” The tour which was named after her brand new chart-topping project was officially announced this earlier this morning.
Fantasia, the band, the singers and others are all scheduled to kick things off in Richmond, VA on November 4th and also makes a stop in the singer’s hometown for a homecoming performance of sorts at the Ovens Auditorium on November 17th. The tour ends on New Years with a live concert in St. Louis, MO.
As previously reported, three-time Grammy Award nominee Eric Benet and Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Kandi Burruss will serve as the tour’s opening acts.
There’s more good news though for the die hard Fantasia fans and supporters so listen up. Currently, subscribers of Fantasia’s exclusive newsletter can buy tickets just one day earlier than the general public’s national sales date. The first round of pre-sales for selected dates on the upcoming tour begin September 30th at 10:00AM. How do you subscribe? Where can you find additional pre-sale and regular ticket information? The tour finds Fantasia reversing the drama of her celebrity following a public scandal regarding her relationship with Antwaun Cook, who is married. Last month was an August that Fantasia probably would like to forget. Many of us have forgiven her, but this past August is one we’ll surely remember even as she makes her moves across the country and steadily up the charts. The R&B star endured the release of sex tapes, a lawsuit and even an overdose. However, she quickly rebounded with various appearances and live performances on “Good Morning America,” “Lopez Tonight,” “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” BET’s “106 & Park,” and “The Wendy Williams Show.”
The scandal, albeit unfortunate, seemed to boost Fantasia’s career and her album sales. Late last month, she released “Back to Me,” an album filled with songs that mirror her public affairs and the entire situation very closely, which debuted at #1 on the R&B charts and #2 on the Top 200.
It is reportedly her strongest out of three national album releases ever. She’s also currently two episodes into the second season television airing of her hit VH1 reality series aptly entitled “Fantasia for Real.” Have you been tuning in to watch?
