A Grand Opening in Bond Hill

Banyan High School, Cincinnati’s tuition-free public charter school, is kicking off its inaugural year with a vibrant New Beginning Bash on May 22nd and 23rd. Located at 6871 Steger Drive in Bond Hill, the school welcomed students aged 15-21, their families, and community members to celebrate its launch. Consequently, this event marked a significant milestone for Oakmont Education’s mission to blend academic rigor with career technical education (CTE).

Engaging Activities for All

The Bash will feature a range of activities to foster community spirit. For example, students explored interactive CTE showcases in business, healthcare, and construction, reflecting Banyan’s hands-on learning approach. Additionally, local food trucks, live music, and games created a festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, guided tours highlight the school’s modern facilities. The event will showcase Banyan’s commitment to preparing students for college and careers.

Empowering Students for Success

Under the leadership of Randy Smoot, a veteran Cincinnati educator, the Bash emphasized Smot’s focus on individualized academic coaching and job training. Moreover, the event will connect students with local industry partners, offering insights into future opportunities. Thus, it reinforced the school’s goal of empowering students to achieve independence and success.

A Bright Future Ahead

Ultimately, Banyan High School’s New Beginning Bash will set an inspiring tone for the 2025-2026 school year. By fostering community engagement and showcasing its innovative programs, Banyan is poised to become a cornerstone of educational excellence in Cincinnati.
