I just moved here from Pennsylvania, and let me tell you, I’ve been missing my Wawa fix something until now! Guess what? The first Wawa store in Ohio is popping up right in our backyard, and I’m practically bouncing off the walls with excitement!

Mark your calendars for April 16, because that’s when the doors swing open at 7198 Cincinnati Dayton Road in Liberty Township. It’s like a little piece of home is following me here!

Wawa’s calling it a super special day, and I get why it’s the same date they opened their very first store back in Pennsylvania 61 years ago. For those who haven’t tasted the magic yet, Wawa’s all about fresh goodies think hoagies that hit all the right spots, and coffee that’ll wake you up with a smile. It’s been my go-to for years,  since college and now I can’t wait to share it with Ohio.

And here’s the kicker: this isn’t a one-and-done deal. Wawa’s got big plans to sprinkle 6-10 stores across Ohio every year for the next 5-8 years, aiming for up to 60 total. That’s a whole lotta Wawa love! Each spot’s gonna bring about 35 jobs, adding up to 2,100 new gigs statewide. I’m already imagining the friendly faces behind the counter, slinging subs and pouring coffee.

Wawa’s President, Brian Schaller, is just as pumped as I am. He said, “We’re thrilled to swoop into Ohio with our fresh food, drinks, and top-notch service for the first time.  This is the start of something big here, with more stores and jobs on the way. Plus, we’re kicking it off by teaming up with some awesome local groups on opening day!” Honestly, I’m counting down the days April 16 can’t come fast enough.
