Fantasia Barrino will bare all (emotionally, that is) 9 p.m. Tuesday, during VH1’s documentary series Behind The Music. The special episode — filmed after she was released from the hospital for a sleep-aid overdose — features the American Idol addressing her demons.
The North Carolina native, 26, talks about her rise in R&B as well as getting raped at age 14, an unexpected pregnancy at 17 (daughter Zion is now 9), an abusive relationship with an ex, bankruptcy issues and a health crisis (polyps on her vocal cords).
“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the I Believe singer says in the episode. “I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”
It is unclear whether she discusses her most recent affair with a married man.
