The Singer says she eventually wants a family, but there’s no rules with timing on being a mom.

From her time with Destiny’s Child, Beyonce Knowles was belting out female empowerment tunes like “Independent Woman.” When she went solo, she continued her work with songs including “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Therefore, it does not come as a shock that Beyonce considers herself to be somewhat of a feminist.

MTV News reported that in an interview with UK magazine You, the singer explained her plans for life right now and changes she’s made from learning more about herself daily.

“I think I am a feminist, in a way. It’s not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it’s because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me,” she explained. “It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships.”

Beyonce also went further into detail about how she “killed” her alter-ego, Sasha Fierce, earlier this year.

“I don’t need Sasha so much anymore, because these days, I know who I am. It takes time to figure out who you are, and I am still discovering different things about myself,” she told You. “As I am exposed to different experiences, I think, ‘Oh, I like this. I didn’t know I liked this.’ That’s the journey of life that is so exciting. More and more, I know who I am, I know what I like, I like what I want, and that makes me feel so free.”

The Dream Girls actress admitted to the magazine she is taking a bit of time off, and that eventually she would love to start a family with her husband Jay Z, but there “is no timing to motherhood” and it will “happen when I am ready.”
