This morning, we start off our week with the sad news that Elbert Jovante Woods, the 16-year-old son of former NFL running back Ickey Woods, has died after complications and an asthma attack over the weekend.
A member of the Princeton High School Vikings’ football team right here in Cincinnati, Woods was a strong contender in sports having been the son of former Bengals player Ickey Woods who played from 1988-1991.
After suffering an asthma attack on last Wednesday night, Jovante Woods had been without oxygen for at least 30 minutes prior to arriving at the hospital where medical procedures were put in place but were unsuccessful in the effort to help save his life.
