A representative for the record label issued a statement explaining that the late emcee will be honored with unseen and exclusive footage that will include concert coverage, video shoots and more.

“His legacy was timeless and he invented music that will shine forever long after he’s gone,” a rep for the label said. “In our lasting and fragrant memories, we will never forget the MC who raised the bar and paved the way for many rappers without the exploitative and negative stigma that has seeped into this generation of Hip-Hop.”

Guru, real name Keith Elam, passed away on April 19 after a year-long battle with the disease. The rapper, who formed Gang Starr in 1985, had suffered a heart attack on February 28 then slipped into a coma.

Shortly after his death producer Solar released a letter allegedly written by the rapper on his death bed, reports Allhiphop. In it Guru stated that he wanted Sonar to look after all elements of his character after death, and that his ex-Gang Starr partner DJ Premier should not be allowed to operate under the duo’s name.
