VH1 'Love & Hip Hop' Season 4 Premiere

Joe Budden is back at it again for the third time, taking shots at Drake while using his own samples.

Shortly after Drake’s verse on French Montana’s “No Shopping” was released calling his opponent a one-hit wonder, Joe Budden hit back with “Afraid,” almost as if he had the track waiting on ice. The hook is sung by the 6 God himself, sampled from the song “The Resistance” that appears on his 2010 debut album Thank Me Later. In the chorus, Drake sings to a future version of himself pleading him to not change. Joe Budden jumps on the track to taunt the rapper/actor about his past image:

“Wish we could go back and grab the Blackberry with the scroll, oh / Yeah Aubrey that’s the one we trusted / Not this new Aubrey with his stomach sculpted / I’m disgusted, you’re such a fuckin’ incumbent / Can’t govern, trust in the public becoming a fucking puppet.”

French Montana first spilled the beans about the track back in May when he previewed the first line of Drake’s verse in a Snapchat story. Budden initially promised to wait for the whole verse to drop before responding, but felt that Drake subliminally went at him on “4PM In Calabasas,” and released to reactive diss tracks from there.

Looks like this beef isn’t dying down any time soon. Listen to the full track below:
