DJ Quik is an OG in the game, and he makes that point very clear in the next episode of TVOne’s Unsung.

Quik started out making mixtapes in the ’80s that got him noticed by big record labels of the time such as Profile and Ruthless Records. But his big break came when when he dropped his first album in 1991, Quik is the Name, which went platinum.

On tonight’s Unsung, the Compton-raised rapper and producer remembered one of his biggest hits, “Dollaz & Sense” that made him a bonafide superstar even within all of its grittiness.

Check out the preview below, and tune into TV One tonight at 10 p.m. to watch the full episode.
