Season 2 of Empire will be gracing our television screens in just a few months on September 23rd, and Fox has confirmed that one of the newest faces added to the star-studded cast is none other than actor Adam Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, most known for his role as Taraji P. Henson’s love interest in Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself and his role as detective Eric “Delko” Delektorsky on CSI: Miami, will have a recurring role on Empire as concert promoter Laz Delgado. His character will also join the growing list of male suitors hoping to catch the attention of Ms. Cookie Lyon.

An interesting tidbit about the real life of Adam Rodriguez? He was in a longterm relationship with R&B songstress Melanie Fiona and even starred in the music video for her 2009 hit “It Kills Me” before the couple called it quits in 2012.

Rodriguez is one of several new faces slated to appear on season 2 of the show, including confirmed celebrity guest stars Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo and Lenny Kravitz.
