Devon Still Cincinnati defensive tackle, learned three-and- a-half months ago that his 4 year old Leah had pediatric cancer-neuroblastoma. She’s scheduled to have her tumor removed this month yet, this diagnosis has changed the Still family’s lives forever. “Football stopped crossing my mind,” Still told MMQB during an interview. “When I heard she had a 50 percent chance of survival, I just wanted to spend all my time with her. That is not time you could ever get back.”

Still was fired. However, once Marvin Lewis discovered he was skipping practice to be there for his little princess, he was given his job back. Cancer treatment is expected to cost at least $1 million. After returning to camp Lewis told him he can go home anytime he needs to be with his baby. Since they know Still won’t be be able to devote all his time and attention to his football right now he was offered a spot on the practice squad. This means he will still be bringing in income to help take care of Leah.

Aside from his insurance helping and his team being supportive during this time, Fans have also stepped up and helped support Still and his family.
