Tired of not getting enough quicker answers or their electricity turned back on, dozens of tenants from an Avondale apartment complex on Harvey Avenue staged a protest yesterday evening as a result of the rough week they’ve endured. Residents of the surrounding neighborhoods as well as representatives from the Legal Aid Society, Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless and the NAACP gathered to demanding for the electricity to be restored.

The unfortunate conditions caused by the gas and electric issues come with additional news that the landlord, Joseph Lantini, reportedly owes Duke Energy in the neighborhood of $70,000. New reports from WCPO.com state Duke Energy issued warnings last week before their last resort was to disconnect the electricity in the buildings. Lantini is said to be disputing the bill with Duke Energy and expects his partners and legal aid to arrive this week to handle the situation accordingly.
