Odd Future rapper Tyler, the Creator appears to have been telling the truth after revealing he was, in fact, the person responsible for driving pop singer Justin Bieber‘s car last month and new video evidence backs up his claim.

According to reports, new security footage from Bieb’s crib should have him in the clear.

A new video could prove what Justin Bieber has been saying all along: that he wasn’t behind the wheel the day Keyshawn Johnson confronted him over speeding through their gated California neighborhood. L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told ABC News that a video does exist and, while he hasn’t seen it, he’s been told that the video shows the Ferrari pulling into Bieber’s driveway with his friend Tyler the Creator behind the wheel on the night of May 27. In the video, which comes from the singer’s security camera, Bieber follows closely behind the Ferrari on his motorcycle, according to a TMZ report, which Whitmore confirmed. Tyler then gets out of the car so Bieber can maneuver the Ferrari into the garage. That is apparently when Johnson showed up to confront Bieber. (ABC News)

Earlier this week, Tyler denied being a reckless driver when asked about driving JB’s car.

Tyler, the Creator tells TMZ … he was definitely driving Justin Bieber’s Ferrari on the day of the confrontation with Keyshawn Johnson … but insists he never burned rubber or endangered kids. Tyler was at a MySpace party at the El Rey Theater in L.A. last night when at first he joked that he was “whipping” JB’s ride through the streets of Calabasas on the day of the Memorial Day weekend encounter. But Tyler quickly clicked into serious mode … telling TMZ, “Nah, I wasn’t whipping … I was driving nicely.” He also insisted he has concern for pedestrians when he’s behind the wheel. (TMZ)

Recently, the Biebs publicly thanked Tyler for taking the blame.

Bieber appreciated the effort to take the fall, writing back, “All good buddy. I deal with this everyday. Thanks though. The baby ain’t mine either,” he added in reference to a new paternity claim by a woman who reportedly said she had a one-night stand with the singer in Miami after meeting him at a TGI Friday’s restaurant. Bieber’s camp has denied the woman’s story, just as it vigorously defended a previous, since-dropped paternity claim? from 2011 by a woman who said she had a one-time fling with the singer backstage at one of his shows. In early June, the rapper gave himself up as the culprit responsible for Bieber making negative headlines.

“That Was Me Behind The Wheel Of Justins Vehicle. Don’t Blame Him. People Are Actually Evil Swearing Up And Down That It Was Who It Wasnt.,” he tweeted June 1st. (Tyler, the Creator’s Twitter)
