Katt Williams was detained by police in West Hollywood on Thursday night when he was on his way to pick up Suge Knight.
The comedian was not taken to jail and explained what happened while still on the scene. “I got stopped for being black on the gayest street in America,” he told TMZ. “There were eight officers that were everywhere and I came to pick up Suge Knight who was getting a manicure.”
He joked about the officers finding his weed and his guns as he was released. Williams was cited for parking too close to a fire hydrant and Suge was ticketed for outstanding traffic warrants, According to TMZ. But officers did find an empty .45 caliber magazine.
Suge Knight was indeed in the passenger seat of Katt’s car.
While Suge Knight has maintained a low profile, the latest legal encounter with Williams comes after a series of run-ins with the law. He has been arrested for reckless driving and allegedly caught on tape slapping a Target employee
