She’s a material girl in a digital world and she, Erykah Badu rocked the house at Cincinnati’s Music Hall last night for the Laugh and Love Tour. If you weren’t there you missed an incredible evening of entertainment. The hilarious comedian, Eddie Griffin kicked off the show. No one was spared. He touched on everything from racism, politics, to having a crush on Michelle Obama to his differences with the Holy Bible. We needed the pause between the two acts because by the time Eddie left the stage we were all in tears.

Then it was time for Loretta Brown to take the stage. Erykah may have many aliases yet one powerful instrument! She sang with a full band and beat machine by her side. She  performed classic cuts including Apple Tree, Other Side of the Game, Love of My Life which she blended with Whodini’s Friends. She made sure to let her presence be felt by being lowered into the audience to allow fans to sing back up while snapping a few photo’s.

After Fatbellybella found her way back to the stage and sent Tyrone home and found a Window Seat December 29, 2011 was declared Erykah Badu Day in Cincinnati. Council woman, Yvette Simpson and State Representative, Alicia Reece presented Erykah Badu with a plaque allowing her an open invitation to revisit our city anytime. We can’t wait for her return!

Were you there? What did you think of the concert?
