Rahsaan Patterson known as The Kid on the popular 80’s sitcom Kids Incorporated is grown now and shares his experience of sexual abuse. The very thing that most people who have been assaulted would prefer to pretend never happened, he has somehow overcome and found strength to speak on the issue. Rahsaan says in a recent interview “after 30years I finally have an appreciation and love for myself that has been missing for most of my life.” Studies have revealed more often than not, we as people tell ourselves how we feel and accept our feelings, only then can we tell others. But like Rahsaan things can change! There is a way out! You have to talk to someone and stop the abuse.

In addition to being s singer, song writer and producer he is now an advocate for survivors. Rahsaan assists the organization RAINN (Rape Abuse and Incest National Network). He wrote a song to raise awareness entitled “Don’t Touch Me” and all proceeds from the single will go toward the non profit organization RAINN.

If you or someone you know is being sexually abused- know that you are not alone. Help is available. In Ohio you can call (800) 644-4460.
