Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry has been seriously injured in a car accident in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon.
The Bengals have confirmed that Henry was involved in a serious accident in Charlotte around 2:30 p.m. The team says he suffered ” very serious injuries.”
Preliminary reports indicate Henry may have also suffered severe head injuries.
Sources tell 9News Henry was in North Carolina with his fiance.
The Bengals and police have not released any other information at this time.
Henry has been on injured reserve since breaking his arm in the November 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
