One of the many things that’s kept people’s interest in Prince through his mystique is the sexual transgression that’s laced his ’80s work. There’s carnal impulses in “Let’s Pretend We’re Married,” incest in “Sister” and the masturbation scene in “Darling Nikki.” There’s been tales of how that sort of stuff isn’t limited to his music. Add Boy George (known for being the frontman for the Culture Club, known for hits like “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me“) to the mix.
During a taping of The Voice U.K., George claimed, in front of a live audience, that he slept with Prince. Paloma Faith, one of the co-judges, was talking about working with Prince when George decided to one-up her with a curveball.
“He just went, ‘Oh darling, I’ve slept with him,’” a spokesperson told PEOPLE. “He went on to say that he had Prince posters on his wall as a kid.”
The spokesperson went on to claim that this was a joke, but it’s quite the way to bring The Purple One back into the headlines.
