Lauryn Hill

Friday evening, Lauryn Hill took to her MsLaurynHill.com website to announce a series of intimate acoustic tours planned for February. The two-week run commences February 13 at Washington D.C.’s Howard Theatre before five consecutive stops in New York.

Each venue on the scheduled tour holds between 250 and 500 occupants. In addition to general admission tickets, which range from $85 to $175, VIP packages, which include a meet-and-greet, autographed photo opportunity, and a poster are also available for purchase.

Hill’s most notable acoustic performance to date has been her MTV Unplugged 2.0 album, which was recorded in July of 2001 and released in May of 2002. Despite a tepid critical reception, the album shipped platinum and was certified by the RIAA a month after its release.

Lauryn Hill has been roundly slammed by critics and booed by audiences in recent shows. Regular complaints about late show times, poor audio quality, and unrecognizable songs have been commonplace during Hill’s performances at Bonnaroo, Voodoo Music Experience, and London’s Brixton Academy.

Dates for Lauryn Hill’s ‘Small Axe’ Tour are as follows:

February 13 – Washington, DC: Howard Theatre

February 14 – Washington, DC: Howard Theatre

February 17 – Brooklyn, NY: Rough Trade

February 20 – New York, NY: Highline Ballroom

February 23 – New York, NY: Highline Ballroom

February 25 – New York, NY: Blue Note (early show)

February 25 – New York, NY: Blue Note (late show)
