Shay Johnson Addresses MempHitz Affair Rumors and Toya Wright Releases Statement on Marriage Troubles
It’s clear that Toya Wright’s marriage to Mickey “MempHitz” Wright is on the rocks, but what remains unclear is what put the nail in the coffin of the estranged couple’s marriage. Of course, unanswered questions usually leaves the rumor mill to draw their own conclusions, which is exactly what happened here.
Earlier this week, former VH1 reality television personality Shay Johnson shared photos of her, MempHitz, personal trainer Derek Taylor and “Married to Medicine” star Quad Webb at the gym.
Apparently, those photos quickly resulted in speculation that Shay may have played a role in the demise of Meph’s marriage.
Shay eventually responded to the rumors through a statement published by Hip Hop Weekly. According to the former “Flavor of Love 2” contestant, she is not romantically involved with the former industry executive. Her statement reads:
“Normally, we wouldn’t even address such a ludicrous rumor coming from Mediatakeout.com, but to get ahead of the lie, we felt the need to clarify a few things. Shay Johnson and Memphitz have no relationship. They don’t know each other outside of social gatherings and they happen to share the same celebrity trainer, Derek Taylor … who, by the way, has trained Toya, Memphitz and Shay at the same time. Although Shay and Toya are mere associates, Shay has nothing but respect for her and values the system of marriage and wishes them nothing but the best.”
Meanwhile, Toya has personally cleared things up on Instagram, telling followers that what her husband are going through is bigger that other people’s judgement.
She also explained that she’s going to fight for her marriage, and Toya stated that her husband is a “good man.”
