In Japan a game of tag is called oni gokko. This past weekend, about 1,700 people played the game at a stadium in Tokorozawa, Japan. The fifty oni, which is known as the demon were “it” and wore red rights to establish themselves. There were referees who called the came, and once you were tagged you officially out the game.
Olympic silver medalist and resident of Japan, Eric Wainaina, could have been looking to claim his spot on Japan’s official tag tag team if the sport becomes an Olympic sport. Watch the video below.
