How is Wendy Williams doing? Well, she’s adding stand-up comedienne to her resume!
According to reports, the daytime talk show host is making her comedy debut at The Venetian in Las Vegas this summer. The show, titled Lipshtick – The Perfect Shade of Stand Up, will be the first of its kind to exclusively star an all-female cast.
Williams will kick off the stage show for its July 11th premiere. Other funny women scheduled to appear include “The Real” host Loni Love, former host of “The View” Joy Behar, Comedy’s Queen of Mean Lisa Lampanelli, “Chelsea Lately” panelist Jen Kirkman and “2 Broke Girls” creator Whitney Cummings.
“While the industry has concentrated on male comedy acts, The Venetian has a long-standing history of featuring outstanding female comediennes,” said John Caparella, the president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “Our success with comedic legends like Rita Rudner and Joan Rivers have proven that ‘girls rule’ when it comes to comedy. Further, we believe that female-driven comedy is now as popular as ever!”
“We’ve already created a buzz in the comedy community,” he added. “Everybody wants to be part of this series.”
